Extremely high regulatory requirements
Labgroup is a PSDC (Prestataire de Services de Dématérialisation ou de Conservation — Digitization and Preservation Services Provider) in Luxembourg, a status governed by law and underpinned by demanding standards, notably ISO 27001 and NF Z42-013 / ISO 14641. For a trusted third-party archiver required to preserve both paper and electronic data, having an EAS that meets these standards was an essential condition.

From paper to electronic: a controlled transition
While paper archiving, according to Yannick Pissel, is “far from over” and will continue to be managed “for quite a few decades to come,” the share of natively electronic documents (scanning, electronic signature) keeps growing. Labgroup therefore needed an electronic archiving system built on industry standards, to round out its range of services alongside its historic paper-archiving business.
